Warlock Asylum International News

Falling Awake is a gifted album that is comprised of twelve heavy-handed musical gems that appear to capture the essence of everyday life. Status Foe has put forth an offering that is truly charming. The album opens with an enchanting track titled Call It As It Is, which is a gold mine of unorthodox guitar riffs and invigorating percussion that gives the listener something to think about.”

Daily Music Roll

Keeping the intensity and gritty intact, the band never fails to satisfy the listeners with its amazing musical arrangement featuring blistering guitar skills and enthusiastic percussions. There is a balance between the classic and modern elements which offers a dynamic taste of rock music.”

“Based on the album teaser that we have received it seems that it will be a truly marvelous album. Songs like Call It As It Is, By Myself, It Was Overstated are exceptional and wonderful.”

Scope Magazine

It Was Overstated boasts one of the catchiest and complex choruses of the album. It’s one of the longer tracks out of the twelve, but once you get into the moody soundscape you can see why; it’s ever-evolving. There’s almost an improv type feel flowing throughout the verses and each musician colours the chords with intricate inflexions, fills or riffs. Both in this song and in ‘Falling Awake’ as a whole, there’s not a moment of ‘too much’ as we’re carried by the chords on a journey through Status Foe’s utter skill. Status Foe clearly has a telepathic level of musical understanding between them.”

“Where did you find the inspiration for the songs and lyrics?

The lyrics on this album came from various personal experiences and thoughts that found their way to the surface. I never seek out to write a specific song or theme, it just find its way after enough attention has been paid. The music is almost always thought up before the lyrics come to fruition. We inspire each other musically as we jam out new ideas at practice.”
